Choosing a Puzzle Book for Grandma
Begin with her interests
Grandma may be a traveller, a gardener, a keen cook or an expert puzzler. Choose around those interests and her preferred level of challenge. Do not assume an age label tells you what she can enjoy.
Check comfort together
If possible, show her a sample without making the choice feel like a test. Ask whether the letters, spacing and page size are comfortable. A book that rests well on a table can be more useful than a pocket edition.
Choose variety with a purpose
Look for genuinely different themes, not the same vocabulary under changing headings. A contents page can reveal whether the collection has enough variety for repeated use over several weeks.
Add a personal touch
Mark a theme linked to a shared holiday or family tradition. A short handwritten note gives the gift meaning without making promises about health or memory. The free sampler is a practical way to test our British-life approach.
Try a few pages for yourself
Our free British sampler includes ten puzzles and their answers. Explore the first full collection for its page and type specifications.
